Welcome, my name is Sean Moss, the founder of Mold Insight Inc.

Over 15 years ago, I worked as a home inspector, where I helped people understand the pros and cons of the homes they were planning to buy.

Identifying moisture issues was part of the home inspection process as well, and subsequently, the most important part of a mold inspection.

About the Founder

Sean Moss – IICRC Certified Mold Inspector

Since 2010, Sean has worked as both an Accredited Home Inspector and a Certified Mold Inspector. Over the years, he has acquired specialized knowledge and certifications in Building Envelope Science, Mold Inspection, Mold Remediation and Infrared technology.

Sean has been a contributing author for Real Estate Weekly, while being a featured guest with Breakfast Television, Global News, Vancouver Magazine, CKNW News Radio and The Richmond News.

Why Mold Inspection?

Early on in my home inspection journey, mold & water damage issues kept coming up. I quickly realized the importance of mold and began to understand the impact that mold and water damage can have on people (health wise) and the damage it causes to their properties.

The Mold Inspection journey began for me soon after 2011, the year I became a Certified Mold Inspector, followed by a certification in Thermography, then mold testing.

At that time, there were very few if any, truly independent mold inspectors in my area. The vast majority of mold inspections were being carried out by remediation companies, restoration contractors or insurance companies.

This meant that there was both an opportunity and a need to provide a truly independent and unbiased mold inspection – without the concern for a conflict of interest.

So, in 2016 after being both a home inspector and mold inspector, I decided to focus exclusively on Mold Inspections, Mold Testing and Mold Prevention.

Since then I haven’t looked back.

Sean was incredibly helpful and cordial in addressing the mold issue in our rental unit.Our rental management company had neglected to take precautionary steps, creating potential health risks and aiming to do the bare minimum. Sean immediately identified the problems, took photos, and provided proper documentation, including lab results. As he put it, he focuses on the facts, and now we have solid data to present to the management team.There was a slight hiccup when the lab misplaced the mold samples a few days after the inspection. However, Sean promptly returned to redo the swab and air tests without any extra charge, ensuring we received the results on time.Sean went above and beyond throughout the entire process. Sean is very detail oriented, professional and exacting!I had reached out to him to address my parents home for mold and he didn’t delay and was very patient with them, took his time in going through every room in that he was very thorough, took pictures with description, very detailed reporting as well as recommendations post report.The other notation I also very much appreciated is Sean addressed other factors that my parents needed to address that were non related. He truly took a vested interest and cared which today is so hard to find. Most people come in do a job and leave -Sean is the opposite he was warm, kind, caring and you could tell takes what he does to heart.The icing on the cake and incredible touch was that Sean had reached out after to check in and see how my parents were doing and how things in the home have been.I highly recommend Sean should you need an inspection done as he’s a true professional who cares and has your best interest at heart.
